NEW YORK -- He knew he was good at playing computer games, but never dreamed he might also be good at designing them.Mauricio is a versatile youngster, but he's the last person to boast about his multiple talents. He believes in doing, not saying.
Wednesday Child: Meet Mauricio
Mauricio has a thirsty intellect. So he eagerly accepted Winston Wolf's offer to teach him computer programming. At his company Stratolab, Wolf teaches programming and robotics to kids, and promises to unlock the imagination. Mauricio was more than prepared.Mauricio now sees the computer in whole a new light.Mauricio likes to play basketball and he's apparently pretty good. "I was very impressed. He has a nice outside shot. He does talk a lot about that. And he doesn't talk a lot about math, but his math teacher raves about his kills in math,” said Jill Damiani, a social worker. He also likes science. But neither is in his career plans, so far."First I want to become an actor but if I don't become that I want to be like a pilot or businessman,” Mauricio said."He’s very shy but he's also very responsible, very mature in his thinking,” said Damiani. "I think he'd bring a lot of love and support from his own end. He has a lot of strength that I’ve seen and courage. And he's just a motivated, driven kind of kid."
