NEW YORK -- Are you always setting your friends up on dates? Now, there is a new school where you can become a certified matchmaker.
The brainchild of a social worker turned matchmaker, the Matchmaking Institute will teach would-be Cupids everything they need to know about the delicate art of love.
"I've been a matchmaker for years, and I felt like it was the most rewarding and amazing profession, and I wanted to give that gift to other people," said Lisa Clampitt, founder of the Matchmaking Institute. "[The course includes] teaching people how to prescreen a potential client, to role playing and feedback, behavioral skills, dating etiquette, and skills in matchmaking, as well as how to run, operate and promote a match making business."
After taking the 22-hour course, students become "certified," and they are also given tips on how to develop their database, as well as how to start up their business.
