Sree Advice On Cool New Travel Sites
These reports on WNBC-TV (6:20 on Thursday mornings and 5:20 on Monday evenings) and WNBC.com/technology bring you tips and tricks to make use of technology all around you. Please send feedback by using this form.
Here are some newish travel sites you should know about:
TripIt.com: A terrific site that has changed my travel life. Instead of printing out separate e-mails for my hotels, flight info and meetings, I have one document where it's all combined, broken up by time, etc. In most cases, I am able to send my booking info to plans@tripit.com and it automatically puts all the info in the right places (this works only from the major booking sites, but is pretty cool). I am also able to easily share my travel info with family and friends.
Dopplr.com: Sounds like a weather site, but is a travel site aimed at frequent business travelers. Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia has called Dopplr his "favorite non-wiki website." He said: "You put in your travel schedule and link to your friends. It allows you to see where everyone is. I love it."
