Sree Advice On New, Cheap Airfare Web Sites
NEW YORK -- These reports on WNBC-TV (6:40 on Thursday mornings and 5:50 on Monday evenings) and WNBC.com/technology bring you tips and tricks to make use of technology all around you. Please send feedback by using this form.
It's August already - can you believe it? Some of you might still be planning a late summer getaway and are looking online for deals (the old reliables, like Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity). But there are some new travel sites worth trying out.
- Yapta.com Yapta is short for "Your Amazing Personal Travel Assistant." It allows you to keep track of airfares and receive alerts if the price drops. If you haven't bought the ticket yet, you can buy it directly. If you have bought it already and the price drops, you can use it to find out if any refunds are available. See JetBlue example
- Trabber.com: This site searches 34 websites at a time, including Expedia.
- AirTreks.com: This is site is great for complex overseas trips.
- Kayak.com: I use this site all the time. See my review of this and other airfare sites from March 2007.
