Requirements
5+ years experience switching live, fast-paced news, talk, sports, and other programming. Knowledge of Sony MVS-8000 switcher preferred. Experience with Sony, Grass Valley Kalypso, and similar switchers required. Knowledge of Grass Valley Encore or similar routers. Familiar with Avid ControlAir playback application. Familiar with all aspects of studio production, including Chyron Duet, Avid Deko, Vinten robotics, EVS SpotBox, Evertz MVP, and Calrec audio systems. Experience with newsroom systems, including iNews. Able to multi-task, integrate production elements during live and taped shows: live shots, graphics, video, cameras, on-set monitors/projection. Strong communication skills required: communicate with producers, directors, talent, management, and engineering on regular basis. Able to make priority decisions under extreme deadline requirements. Demonstrate leadership skills for multiple crews. Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, early morning, holidays and overtime as required. Research Analyst, WNBC & WNJU
Responsibilities
As a Research Analyst, you will have the opportunity to identify and report major growth trends in our audiences. You will monitor and interpret Nielsen ratings across key markets, analyze the composition of the audience, and use media terminology and statistics in reports/sales documents for WNBC & WNJU TV Stations, WNBC 4.4, wnbc.com, Telemundo.com, WeatherPlus.
-Responsible for supporting the Director of Research in the creation of the reports, analyses and sales collateral materials.-Produce program track and trend reports for department and general management using ratings data.-Create and maintain stations sales program inventory, including ratings estimates.-Develop sensible strategies to estimate the performance of new programming and sports and specials properties across markets.-Produce sales presentations to put forward the company's position in the marketplace, using qualitative and quantitative data.-Respond to daily data analysis requests from the sales teams.-Monitor and analyze LPM samples (NSI and NHSI) to keep in line with statistical standards.-Interact with News, Finance, Press, Promotion and Programming for both television stations. -Assist in primary research for both television stations.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree required in Media, Communications, Sociology, Social Psychology or Marketing or business related major.
-At least one year of experience in research, advertising, or in a media outlet, with proven knowledge/proficiency in basic business software applications, computerized avails systems and qualitative tools.-Minimum of one year working with Nielsen TV ratings and Scarborough, Media Audit and CMR.-Able to utilize advanced searching techniques on the Internet.-Minimum one year proven ability to analyze, prepare and present reports and presentations.

-Fluent in English and Spanish.-Strong writing, math and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects.-Strong analytical skills and fast learner.-Successful candidate must be a team player, be a self-starter and have the ability to work well with management and sales staff.-Able to create a solid message through data analysis.-Proactively generate customizable, timely, data for sales staff to use at the customer level.-Ability to interpret research needs of sales staff, through interaction.-Preferably held positions that required effective multi-tasking and organization skills.-Preferably held positions that required the ability to develop a customer-focused relationship with the sales team, which requires strong interpersonal and influence skills.
