Meet Giants Rookie Kenny Phillips
He's big for a safety. He's 6-foot-2, 213 pounds. He's confident, not cocky. He has the talent to be a starter for Big Blue. He's Kenny Phillips, who will wear No. 21 for the Super Bowl Champion, New York Giants.The team's number one selection hails from the University of Miami, which has produced a plethora of super safeties.Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, Bennie Blades and Brandon Meriweather are just some of the former Hurricanes, who have starred in the NFL.Phillips will likely replace Gibril Wilson, who signed as a free agent with Oakland. But he is capable enough to play both safety positions. And Phillips versatility carries over to special teams, where he hopes to make an immediate impact for Coach Tom Coughlin.
