NEW YORK -- New York City police on Friday were looking for a man they said impersonated a police officer and raped a woman in Richmond Hill.

Authorities said the man, armed with a knife, raped a 37-year-old woman in her Queens apartment early Thursday.

The rapist fled the woman's residence with her cell phone and money. The alleged victim was taken to an area hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, police said.

The victim described the attacker as a black man with freckles on his face who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall.
