Manholes Explode In Queens; Windows Shattered

NEW YORK -- Residents on a Kew Gardens street woke up to exploding manhole covers Tuesday.

Apartment windows were blown out and manhole covers cracked in half after they flew through the air.

No injuries were reported, but part of some scaffolding at a construction project came down. The glass front of one apartment building lobby was also shattered.
