NEW YORK -- A tractor-trailer fatally struck and killed a woman in Chinatown on Monday, the New York City Fire Department said.

The incident happened at around 12:20 p.m. at Hester Street and Bowery.

Police were investigating the scene.

The woman's condition and age were unknown. The airbags of the truck had deployed, according to the Fire Department.
