Woman Dies When Car Collides With FDNY Truck

NEW YORK -- A woman is dead after the car she was driving in collided with a New York City fire engine on its way to a burning home in Queens.All six firefighters on the truck were hospitalized after the accident in the Jamaica section of Queens. The truck from Engine Company 275 was responding to a fire at a three-story private home when it collided with a car driven by 27-year-old Angela Johnson near 111th Avenue and 155th Street.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.A witness told WNBC he saw the car start to pull out into the intersection when he heard the fire engine coming. The crash happened a short time after. The Fire Department says two of the firefighters have more serious injuries; all are hospitalized at Long Island Jewish Hospital.
