Submachine Gun Goes Missing From N.J. Police Arsenal

WAYNE, N.J. -- New Jersey police are searching for a submachine gun that shoots 700 to 900 rounds per minute and disappeared more than a week ago from the department's arsenal.Deputy Police Chief John Reardon said he doubts the nine-millimeter weapon wound up in the hands of a private citizen.Passaic County prosecutors are investigating. It's listed as missing or stolen in a national police database, and so far, there is no indication where the weapon might be.
