NEW YORK -- Police found a 69-year-old woman dead in an East Harlem apartment on Sunday.

A medical examiner said the woman was strangled, stabbed and beaten to death.

A relative found the woman at around 4 p.m. and called authorities. Officers responded to the home at 2400 2nd Avenue.

Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and pronounced the woman dead on arrival.
