Slain Rowan Student Laid To Rest

Funeral services were held Saturday for the Rowan University student who died last week after being beaten and robbed on his way home from a party.

Donald Farrell was laid to rest after a funeral service at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Mountain Lakes, N.J.

Hundreds packed the church and lined the streets to say goodbye to Farrell, who died Oct. 29.

The 19-year-old sophomore was attacked by five men outside a convenience store near the Glassboro campus, police said. Witnesses said the group asked Farrell for directions, and then punched and kicked him, trying to take his wallet.

Farrell died from a ruptured artery in his neck.
