NEW YORK -- A New Jersey man has been accused by police of promoting child prostitution and with pimping out two teenage sisters on craigslist.com, according to New Jersey state police.

Police said Cassan L. Coward, 24, of Pleasantville, was arrested early Friday and charged with promoting child prostitution, endangering the welfare of a minor and child pornography.

Troopers arrested a 14-year-old girl for prostitution in a Galloway Township hotel Thursday night. Police said the girl and her 16-year old sister claimed to be working as prostitutes handled by Coward.

The two sisters were listed as missing persons from Allentown, Penn., and have since been reunited with their parents.

Police said the case began when New Jersey state police detectives arranged for an undercover trooper to meet with a prostitute found on craigslist.com, a Web site that offers a variety of classified-type ads.

The girls identified Coward as the one who had listed their services on craigslist.com, complete with nude photographs and contact numbers, police said. Coward had met them in Allentown and transported them to Atlantic City.

Philadelphia police located the 16-year-old sister at 3 a.m. Friday after she had been dropped off by another suspect on a street corner and phoned her parents. She was then taken to a New Jersey state police station in Bellmawr where the parents had been summoned to pick up their 14-year-old daughter after her arrest Thursday night.

Coward is currently being held in the Atlantic County Jail on $150,000 bail. Coward was arrested at his father's residence after state police tactical units found him hiding in a closet.

State police are working with other law enforcement agencies to determine whether there are any other juveniles involved in the alleged prostitution operation.
