NEW YORK -- A Brooklyn school teacher was arrested on Wednesday on charges of raping a 13-year-old male student who attended her school, officials said.
Marcia Amsterdam, 30, was charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a statement released by the special commissioner of investigation for the New York City School District.
An investigation determined that Amsterdam, who taught at Junior High School 166, had sexual intercourse with the boy, the statement said.Amsterdam has been reassigned to administrative duty by the Department of Education, officials said.
