For Jane Pomerantz, even the simple task of eating was a challenge."My entire lower front -- all the way across -- were so wobbly, I could no longer bite things," she said.Instead of dentures, Pomerantz is paying for implants to replace wobbly teeth, and she's having it done a new way. Dentists Lee Walker and Curtis Jansen use a 3-D scan of her jaw to plan everything in advance.
Normally, implant patients need two or three operations and have to wear dentures between visits. But for Pomerantz, it's one-stop shopping because her dentists have combined a procedure that normally takes over a year into a one-day procedure. In just 90 minutes, Pomerantz's old teeth come out, the implant posts go in, and a temporary set of teeth are screwed on. No incisions are made. The fit is so tight that she will be able to eat soft food immediately."They're better than the ones that were there before," she said. "They're straight and comfortable. Definitely comfortable."On The Net:
