25-Year-Old New Jersey Man Arrested After Posing as Incoming High School Freshman

Carl Walden, of Union Township, walked into Dayton High School in Springfield on Tuesday and said he was interested in enrolling

A 25-year-old man with several outstanding warrants was arrested after he tried to pass himself off as an incoming freshman at a New Jersey high school, according to a published report.

According to the Star-Ledger, Carl Walden of Union Township walked into Dayton High School in Springfield on Tuesday and said he was interested in enrolling.

Though it was obvious the 6-foot-1, 265 pound Walden was not a young teenager, school officials gave him some forms and told him to have his parents fill them out to avoid a confrontation, the newspaper reported. They then alerted police.

Officers found Walden soon after and discovered he had outstanding warrants for traffic tickets. He was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Detectives are continuing to investigate why Walden tried to enroll at the school.
